The Marketing emails audience setting controls which members of your organisation receive marketing emails from OKRnest. It only affects non-transactional messages — transactional mail like invitations, ownership transfers, and check-in reports is always sent regardless of this setting.
Each member can also opt out individually from their own profile. Their preference always takes precedence — if a member has opted out, they won't receive marketing emails even if the org-wide audience would include them.
Available options
All members
Every active member of the organisation receives marketing emails from OKRnest. This is the default for new organisations and is the right choice if you want everyone to stay informed about product updates and tips.
- Reaches the broadest audience
- Each member can still opt out from their profile
- Suitable for organisations where everyone benefits from product news
Admins and Owner only
Only users with the Admin or Owner role receive marketing emails. Regular members are excluded entirely. Pick this when you'd rather have admins triage product news and pass relevant updates on to the rest of the team internally.
- Reduces marketing mail for regular members
- Admins still get product updates, webinars, and tips
- Useful for organisations with a centralised "OKR champion" team
Owner only
Only the organisation Owner receives marketing emails. Everyone else — admins and regular members — is excluded.
- The most restrictive option
- Useful when one person is responsible for evaluating product changes
- Combine with internal communication if other admins need to stay informed
What counts as a marketing email?
Marketing emails are non-transactional communications such as:
- Product update announcements
- Webinar and event invitations
- Tips and best-practice newsletters
- Surveys and feedback requests
Transactional emails — these are always sent regardless of the audience setting:
- Organisation invitations
- Ownership transfer confirmations
- Check-in reports and reminders
- Security notifications (sign-in alerts, MFA changes)
- Subscription and billing notifications
Personal preference
Each member can disable marketing emails for themselves from Profile → Email preferences (the Receive marketing emails checkbox). When the personal opt-out is set, no marketing emails are sent to that user even if the organisation audience would otherwise include them.
