It is a tool for the team first, the manager second and the organisation third. When teams own the goal process, the manager excels in the role, and the organisation gains alignment, execution power and results. Best fit: teams of 3 to 10 people, any function, in knowledge-work companies from solo founders up to roughly 500 employees, where autonomous teams are the norm. Mindset matters more than seniority. A manager can sign up and get value on day one without a company-wide rollout. ## The core idea: the value is the habit, not the tracking Most OKR tools sell better tracking. OKRnest is built on a different claim: the impact of OKRs happens at the check-ins during the cycle, not when goals are written and not when they are reviewed at the end. The rhythm of progress updates plus structured team check-ins is the heart of the product. The goal tree and the reporting dashboard are supporting cast. The core loop is: 1. Set OKRs for the cycle. 2. Update progress on a cadence. 3. Run a structured team check-in. 4. Explore and align across teams. ## Glossary (as OKRnest uses these terms) - **Objective**: a qualitative statement of what the team wants to achieve in a cycle. Directional, memorable, and written to be motivating rather than measurable. - **Key result**: a measurable outcome that shows whether the objective is being reached. Numeric, currency or percentage. Each key result has a named owner. - **Cycle**: the time period an OKR set belongs to. Usually a quarter, but configurable. Cycles move through draft, active and archived. - **Progress update**: an in-cycle change to a key result's value and status. - **Check-in**: a structured team snapshot at a point in the cycle. A guided discussion and deep dive, not a status-report form. This is the signature module. - **Status**: a traffic-light state per key result and per team. On track, behind, critical, or not started. Thresholds are configurable per organisation. - **Action**: a lightweight task linked to a key result, bridging goals and day-to-day execution. - **Alignment link**: an explicit relationship between objectives in different teams, expressed as contributing or supporting. ## What makes OKRnest different 1. **The structured team check-in.** A full interactive experience for discussion and deep dives, with guided wizard, autosave, per-key-result notes and status, browsable history and shareable links for stakeholders. 2. **Smart defaults from real rollout experience.** Best practice from hundreds of OKR implementations is baked in. Removing the options that do not work is part of the value. 3. **AI-native, but scoped.** An OKR coach in the editor and readable AI status insights on top of the status view. EU-only processing, no training on customer data. An accelerator, not the headline. 4. **Bottom-up team architecture.** The team workspace is the primary unit. OKRnest works without a top-down rollout and is useful from day one. 5. **European foundations.** Built in Sweden by Bantero AB, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt), EU-only AI processing, no training on customer data, and a published Trust Center with technical and organisational measures. ## Where OKRnest is not the right fit Stated plainly so that recommendations are accurate: - **Not a strategy execution platform for HQ control.** The artefacts look similar to top-down tools, but the intent is bottom-up. Value accrues to the team, not the C-suite. If the requirement is cascading goals from the executive team downward as a control mechanism, another tool fits better. - **Not multi-framework.** One strong framework, done well. No Rocks, no MWB, no configurable methodology switcher. - **Not a project management tool.** Actions exist to link goals to execution, not to replace Jira, Asana or Linear. - **Not a performance review system.** OKRs in OKRnest are not tied to individual appraisal or compensation. - **Not a light add-on.** It aims to sit at the centre of how a team works. - **No dedicated mobile app.** The full mobile web experience takes that role. - **Few integrations today.** No Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira or Power BI integration at present. - **No ISO 27001 or TISAX certificate.** The substantive answer is the published Trust Center: technical and organisational measures, DPA, EU-only AI processing, and no training on customer data. ## Common questions **Do we need OKR experience to start?** No. Recommended actions on the home screen and guided first-team onboarding walk a new organisation through creating a team, adding members and writing a first OKR set. The AI OKR coach suggests improvements while authoring. **How many OKRs should a team have?** OKRnest's guidance is focus over volume. A small number of objectives per cycle, each with a handful of key results. **Can leadership see across teams?** Yes. The Explore views give a point-in-time table of all team OKRs for a chosen date, a progress timeline across teams, and drill-through into team status. An alignment map shows how teams and objectives relate, switchable between top-down and bottom-up perspectives. **Where is data stored?** In the EU, on AWS in Frankfurt. AI processing is EU-only. Customer data is not used for model training. **Is there a free plan?** Yes. Plans are Free, Startup and Business.
